I first began writing while I was in the fire service, producing a number of training materials to help new recruit firefighters better understand some of the many complex and technical aspects of firefighting. This would eventually lead me into helping to develop the department's training manual as well as completely modernizing the department's standard operating guidelines from a twenty year old, two-page document to more than 400 pages. I also occasionally submitted material to Firehouse Magazine, The PA Fireman Magazine and Fire Chief Magazine with some success.

During the period of 1998-1999, I also wrote my first article relating to the Mobile Disc Jockey Industry for Mobile Beat Magazine, which was never published. But that would lead to me later writing a syndicated series of articles covering Computer Performance Systems or CPS from 2002 through 2004. When I set to re-writing the series of articles, it was suggested by a number of my friends and associates to compile the articles into a book format, which was first self-published in April 2005. My first book titled "So You Wanna Go Digital?" was surprisingly a huge success when the book made its debut at the DJ Idea Sharing #9 that same month.

Within just a few short weeks of releasing that first book, I began re-writing it to include even more information and visual aids as well as updating material where major advances were made in computer technology. The "So You Wanna Go Digital? - Revised First Edition" book was released in October 2005, which was during the Third Annual Computer DJ Summit and the book was added to the CPSDJ Certification recommended reading list in addition to being a CPSDJ/CPSME Certification Approved Resource.

In 2006 I began working on a Second Edition version of my book only to further refine this work into a series of books and videos that goes into much greater details. The first of this new series of educational materials is the book titled "Introduction to Computer DJing & CPS" published by ProDJ Publishing and made its debut at Mobile Beat Las Vegas in February 2008. The follow-up book titled "Advanced CPS Concepts" is already in the works and I am also working on a companion workbook to the first book that will be available as an ebook download or on CD-ROM which will be especially useful for anyone studying for their CDPSDJ Certification test.

Also in 2006, I was added to Disc Jockey University as a professor for submitting revised and updated versions of my original series of articles focused on Computerized Performance Systems. I also wrote several articles for Tricerasoft Newsletter as well as a handful of equipment and software reviews, all focused on DJing with computers.
